Discussion on last fall’s litter clean-up, and how it well worked with covid protocols in place.
A new page has been added to the KRCB website for pick up reporting.
Introduction of Jess Kerr as new litter committee chair.
Jess discussed how a spring litter clean-up might work.
Discussion on the idea of an Eco Art installation(s) in spring. Rutherfordton already participating.
April will be known as “Keep Rutherford County Beautiful” awareness month.
Jenna would like to do Recycle Bot challenge again.
Recommendation to offer a scholarship initiative to students who are pursuing an “environmentally green” degree.
Jenna recommended a committee be formed to establish scholarship criteria.
Administrative Committee Report: Don
Decided to continue to promote Adopt- and Sponsor-A-Highway programs.
There will be a hold on attempting to change/update any town ordinances due to the business of the Health Dept. with covid pandemic.
The budget this FY with a TDA contribution of 25,000 and contributions totaling 3,000 from Spindale and Rutherfordton will total 28,000.
Community Foundation of Henderson County will be handling all donations.
A total of $450 has come in the form of donations.

Trash bowl is on hold for now (Jenna Bailey).
Recommendation the committee puts a positive spin on litter clean-ups (Clark Poole).
Old 221 by RS Central is bad (the Moyers).
The last two weeks in April will be the NCDOT sweep, the NCDOT will be doing more litter pick-ups this year due to an increase in funding (Chris Guffey).
