Keep Rutherford County Beautiful (KRCB), a local environmental and beautification nonprofit organization and affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, is thrilled to announce the recipient of the 2025 Green Scholarship. This year, the scholarship aims to support graduating seniors who demonstrate exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Aiden Wheeler, a senior at Rutherford Early College High School (REaCH), has been awarded the $1,200 Green Scholarship. Aiden has shown remarkable dedication to environmental conservation both in and out of the classroom at REaCH.

Throughout Aiden's time at REaCH, he has consistently displayed a deep understanding of both local and global environmental issues, a passion for sustainable practices, and a strong desire to actively contribute to solutions. In class, he consistently goes above and beyond, conducting in-depth research on topics like renewable energy and climate change, and presenting insightful analysis to the class with a clear focus on real-world applications.

Beyond academics, Aiden is a dedicated environmental advocate. He spearheaded the

school's involvement in the annual Litter Bowl. After the Litter Bowl, he wanted to do

more! Aiden motivated REaCH to formally adopt a segment of Piney Ridge Road to

continually keep the community clean. His leadership and enthusiasm were instrumental

in raising awareness and promoting positive change within the school's community.

"We are thrilled to award such a deserving candidate for the Green Scholarship," said Jerry Stensland, scholarship panel member. "We believe Aiden will make the impact his generation is destined to make in sustainability and a greener future."
