I. Welcome

II. Administrative Report — Don Cason

1. 20% budget cut for this year following impacts of Hurricane Helene, budget is uncertain for future years

2. Discuss priorities and future functioning of KRCB in next full committee meeting

III. Litter Report – Allie Houtz

1. Litter Bowl 2024

   1. 5 schools participated

   2. 4,455 pounds collected by 327 volunteers!

   3. East Rutherford: 1,695 pounds

   4. REaCH: 1,140 pounds

   5. RS Central: 1,020 pounds

   6. LLCA: 495 pounds

   7. HARC: 105 pounds

   8. Paid pick-up, winner announcement, press release, and trophy presentation delayed due to hurricane

   9. Questions for this year:

      1. Discussed proceeding with recognition for schools

         1. Trophy presentation, press release, social media announcement

         2. Coordinate trophy presentation with East

         3. NCDOT totals for PR

      2. Any others for participating schools?

         1. Pizza parties for all schools

         2. Fly Boy’s will provide at $10/pizza

      3. Questions for next year:

         1. Including more county schools with earlier timeline for contacting and changing dates to late September or October

         2. Discussed weighing bags vs. counting bags, concluded dumpsters for weighing is the only way and may not be feasible to change rules unless this is an option

2. Litter Committee Meeting Schedule

   1. Discussed changing Litter Committee meeting to January and full committee to February, decided to stick to original schedule instead due to planning needs in January

III. Keep America Beautiful Update

1. Governance Report on hold until further notice from KAB

2. America Recycles Day on November 15th - post on socials

IV. Upcoming Schedule

1. Full Committee Meeting– January 14th at 12 p.m.

2. Litter Committee Meeting– February 11th at 12 p.m.
