2021TRASHBOWL

Congratulations Lake Lure Classical Academy, 2021 Trash Bowl Champions!
Read all about the 2021 Trash Bowl here, and look out for the 2022 Trash Bowl, coming next fall!
Join high school student bodies and faculty members across the county in this collaborative, community-building event while benefiting our environment.
High schools across the county will participate in a friendly competition to see which school can collect the most litter. Everyone over 12 years of age is welcome to take part in the challenge.
Participating high school students will earn community service hours, as well as a chance at our $1,200 Green Scholarship awarded in the Spring! The event kicks off September 11th and runs through September 25th.
We are happy to partner with Republic Waste Management again this year! Special bins will be placed at all participating schools with instructions on how to collect. Supplies will be provided to each school or you can sign up at the link below.
At the conclusion of the event, the poundage will be tallied and the winning school will be awarded the Trash Bowl Trophy, made by Jordan Jackson of Night Owl Iron Works and winner of the History Channel's 'Forged in Fire'.
Thank you to all the participating schools!
